A commercial fence gets built around a requirement. A fence securing a yard full of equipment, one screening a dumpster enclosure and one fronting an office all get built differently, and the site settles it before anyone picks a material.

What commercial work we cover

  • Security fencing for yards, depots, storage and job sites.
  • Perimeter fencing around business premises and car parks.
  • Drive gates, including cantilever slide gates and automated entrances.
  • Dumpster and equipment enclosures.
  • Screening where a business backs onto residential property.
  • Repairs and replacement of commercial fence and gates.

How commercial fence differs from residential

The same material in commercial specification is a heavier fence. Chain link shows it most clearly, and the differences run right through the build.

Chain link for security work

Chain link stays the default for commercial security. It costs the least per foot at height, nobody defeats it quietly, and it leaves the site visible from outside, which deters people on its own. What gets specified:

  • Six to eight feet for general perimeter work, taller where the site calls for it.
  • Heavier mesh gauge and fatter line and terminal posts than a residential fence.
  • Barbed arms angled outward at the top where the site justifies them.
  • Privacy slats where the yard contents should stay off the road.
  • Bottom tension wire so nobody lifts the mesh.

Commercial gates

Gates take the wear on a commercial site, cycling many times a day instead of a few times a week. That changes what goes in.

A cantilever slide gate carries its weight on rollers beside the opening, with no track across the driveway to fill with gravel and nothing touching the ground to jam. It needs clear run alongside the opening for the counterbalance, roughly half the opening width again. Where there is room to swing, double swing gates cost less.

Either one automates with an operator sized to the gate, plus keypads, intercoms, loop sensors and photo eyes. The automatic gates page covers that.

Working around a business

A commercial job carries constraints a back yard does not. Access has to stay open, or we plan the closure in advance. Deliveries and staff parking keep running while we work. Some sites need us outside trading hours, and some need the perimeter secure at the end of each day instead of the end of the job.

We walk the site, agree the sequence and access plan, and put the schedule in writing with the quote, so nothing surprises you on day one.

Quotes for property managers and contractors

You get an itemised written quote you can submit for approval, plus insurance documentation where the site requires it before work starts. On multi site or phased work we break the quote down by location or phase instead of handing you one figure.

Frequently Asked Questions

What height should a commercial security fence be?

Six to eight feet covers most perimeter work, taller where the site calls for it. Height, mesh gauge and post size get specified together, because a taller fence carries more wind load and needs deeper footings.

What is a cantilever gate and when do I need one?

A cantilever slide gate carries its weight on rollers beside the opening, with no track across the driveway to jam. It suits sites with no room to swing, and it needs clear space alongside the opening, roughly half the opening width again.

Can you work around our operating hours?

Yes. We agree the access plan and sequence before starting and put the schedule in writing with the quote. Where you need the perimeter secure at the end of each day, we plan the run that way.

Do you provide itemised quotes and insurance documentation?

Yes. Quotes come itemised and ready to submit for approval, with insurance documentation where your site requires it. Multi site or phased work breaks down by location or phase.
